Important Dates for THP participant families:

Please make the following dates a PRIORITY!

● Sunday, May 10 | Deadline for Student Commitments

Let Robyn know if you plan to attend THP so we can include you in further planning communications.

● Sunday, May 31 | Online Registration Deadline

A $50 deposit is required at registration. Payment is submitted to THP. There is a late fee for all late registrations. Click here to register for The Hartford Project.

● Sunday, June 7, 12 pm-1:30pm | First Team Meeting

Lunch will be served. We will get to know the summer 2026 team.

● Sunday, June 28 | THP Final Payment

If you did not pay the entire payment when registering your student(s), Robyn will email you the total remaining. This payment is submitted to SCC.

● Friday, July 10, 5pm-9pm | Final Team Prep Meeting

Dinner will be served. Students will be asked to bring a side dish, salad, or dessert to share. This meeting is mandatory for all students attending.

● Thursday, July 16, 7 to 9pm | THP Family Closing Service @ South Church, Hartford

Parents and siblings are welcome. Come hear about your student’s week at THP!

● Sunday, July 26, 10am-12pm | THP Team Presentation to SCC during service

Prior to the presentation, each student is asked to write a reflection of their time in Hartford with the guidance and support of the THP Team Leaders. This reflection will be read by the student during our presentation to the congregation. (If uncomfortable reading, please let the THP Team Leaders know during our week of THP.) Students are asked to arrive by 10am so we can go over any last minute details.

What: “The Hartford Project (THP) is a discipleship training ministry for churches in New England and beyond. Churches are invited to come and spend time in Hartford, CT. During this time, they serve the community, learn about the range of ways God is building His Kingdom on earth, build relationships with the wider body of Christ, and learn how to find purpose for their lives in God’s work wherever they live.”

Why:

This is a great opportunity for students to…

• Learn what living out their faith can look like.

• Learn where God is at work in Hartford and in their lives.

• Experience an urban environment and learn more about their state capital.

• Learn more about poverty and Jesus’ heart for the poor.

• Meet other youth who love Jesus and/or are still figuring out what this following Jesus thing is all about.

When: We will be attending THP Summer Outreach from Sunday, July 12 @ 7pm to Thursday, July 16. This is an overnight camp experience for all students. Parents are responsible for transportation to and from Hartford.

Where: THP home base is South Church, 227 Main Street, Hartford, CT. During the week, we travel throughout the city to service sites, dinners out, and a Love Wins Neighborhood Block Party.

Who: Students who are completing 7th-12th grade!

Cost: Overnight accommodations and most meals are included in the cost: $295 for the first student, and $270 for subsequent students from the same family. (Note a $50 deposit is required at registration.) Each student will also need money for two meals out during our service week. To defray cost, there are scholarships available through THP and some through SCC. We don’t want cost to be a barrier for anyone! If cost is a concern, please speak to Robyn.
